Massachusetts 6th Grader Makes Her High School Basketball Team
Foxboro, MA (PRWeb) December 25, 2006 -- Julia Wood, who does not turn 12 years old until February, does not let her age stand in her way of playing with the high school girls at her school in Foxboro, MA. Julia who already stands 5'6" played in her first competitive league at the YMCA near her home when she was 4 years old. She continued to work on her skills as she played over the next four years before moving onto AAU basketball. During those years she also began to excel at area basketball camps winning many shooting contests and awards as well as earning MVP (10U) at the Sarah Behn Camp in 2005. Last summer she made the all-star team at the University of Connecticut basketball camp. In addition, her Mass Premier AAU team won the 10U state championship and qualified for the Nationals in 2006. Her goal for 2007 is to get invited to a national camp in California and head back to UConn.
This year she skipped her town travel team to play up with older girls at her school and to date the move has been a smooth transition. Her team, Foxboro Regional Charter School, is 3-0 and Julia is averaging 6 points a game. She started her last game, scoring 9 points, including the first points of the game, a 3-point shot from the right baseline. Her team is coached by Bob Hickey and the assistant is Julia's Mom, Robyn Wood.
Julia has also play other sports during her young career including softball, soccer and track and field. Her goal this year is to give lacrosse a shot. She also works as hard in the class room as she does on the hardwood, maintaining an A average. It should be very interesting when she actually gets to high school.

One can tell if a person is using a soccer jersey from miles away, and it is used not only by soccer fans but also because a lot of the jerseys have nice designs and lines to them, which allows people to wear them in practically any occasion.
Fantasy Football: Quarterbacks
I have always felt that quarterbacks were undervalued in fantasy football. In most scoring formats, they put up more points than any other position (yes, including the vaunted running backs).

Basketball Goggles
Goggles are also important when playing basketball. It is nice to know that the eyes are protected because the eyesight is one of the primary tools in playing the game. The eyes are the ones used in seeing where to turn to in passing the ball or even when going for that crucial 3-point shot.
